COACHELLA DAY THREE REPORT: I’m not sure I’ve ever had more fun at a show than I did with Snoop and Dre last night. They didn’t stint on the hits – “The Next Episode,” “Nuthin’ But a G Thang,” “Deep Cover” and “Gin and Juice” were all among the first few songs, with 90,000 or so people rapping along. There was weirdness at this party, too: Snoop covered “Jump Around” for some reason, but that was nothing compared to when a holographic Tupac dropped by to hit us with “Hail Mary” and “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted.” It was a very strange moment. (The Uncanny Coachella Valley?) I was sort of hoping Hologram Pac would treat us to one of those circa-‘04 posthumous tracks where he shouted “G-UNIT!”, but no dice.
The rest of Sunday was a busy blur. Wild Flag kicked ass and took names per usual on the second stage. Later on, Company Flow sent me right back to my high school years as a young Rawkus head. Memories! There were lots of other highlights, but right now I’m going to catch up on some of the sleep I missed this weekend. Til next year!
